Maximizing Curb Appeal: The Power of Exterior Window Cleaning
The spring season gives us a lot to look forward to – blossoming flowers, sunny days, and most importantly, warmer weather. However, with budding life come bugs and birds, and of course post-winter clean-up conditions. These elements are all threats to your windows and need to be taken care of. If you haven’t already added window washing to your spring cleaning checklist, now is your time to do so.
Here’s why window cleaning in Vancouver is so important in the spring.
Bugs and Birds are Out of Control
We’re not the only ones enjoying warmer weather and outdoor activities. Spring ushers in lots of chirping birds and rustling animals. In Vancouver especially, the spring weather comes at the cost of bugs. Ants, flies, mosquitos, and other bothersome insects hatch into existence, making it difficult for your windows to go unnoticed.
A more active insect population equals more bug droppings and another residue on your windows. Bird excrement, tree sap, and other pollen start building up on your windows’ surfaces, making it an important time to clean the glass and tracks.
It is important to make sure you’re using the right type of soap and equipment to wash your windows. Using the wrong formula chemicals or cleaners can leave marks on your windows or weaken them. If you’re unsure of how to start or which products and equipment to use, we can help.
At Clean Break, our technicians know what works best for your property and make it a point to efficiently and safely get your windows cleaned. Contact us now for a free quote on our window cleaning services.
Weather Conditions are Ideal
With the weather getting warmer in the spring, you’re probably getting ready to host your friends outdoors or have barbecue nights with your family on your patio. What better way to prepare your house for visitors than by professional window cleaning? The spring showers are becoming lighter in Vancouver, which makes it the ideal time to get your home exterior looked after as well. It can be challenging to get rid of grime in hard-to-reach areas and clean your window tracks as well. This is why our window washing services can help.
Our technicians have the skills, equipment, and expertise to handle the job for you, so you can focus on party planning and spring cleaning.
Winter remnants on your windows
The snowstorms and cold weather might be behind us but their remnants refuse to leave. The spring thaw usually leaves salt deposits and streaks on your window, especially if your window screens are dirty.

In the meantime, here are some window cleaning tips for you to carry out at home.
Use the right window cleaning tools
The first important step when it comes to cleaning windows is making sure you have the right tools in hand. If you have modern windows that tilt back and open up at different angles, then you don’t have to do too much. All you need is some window cleaner, a squeegee, and some sponges or rags. You’ll also want something to dry your windows with — paper towels, newsprint, microfiber cloths, or swatches of an old cotton percale sheet will work well. If you don’t have tilted windows, use a power jet and a cleaning spray to wash the exteriors of your windows.
Dust windows before applying cleaning products
Once you start with the cleaning process, make sure you use a hand vacuum or a brush to remove the dust from the windows. This will prevent dirt from turning into a muddy mess when mixed with a cleaner.
Wash away streaks
Make sure you use two different scrubbers, rags, or sponges when cleaning your windows – one for the inside and one for the exterior. Since the outside will be dirtier, using a separate rag will help keep the inside clean and prevent the spread of insect and bird droppings into your home. Then, use another separate cloth to clean sills and frames.
Once done, use a squeegee to remove excess water. Finally, dry your windows, frames, and sills using a microfiber cloth.
